Meetings (also noted on the Town Calendar)
    Selectboard meetings are held at the Town Offices every other Wednesday night at 6:00pm.
    Planning Commission meets: 1st Tuesday every month at 6:30pm Town Office
    Conservation Commission meets: 2nd Thursday at 6:00pm Town Office
    Development Review Board meets: 3rd Tuesday at 7:00pm Town Office
    Energy Commission: 1st Monday every month at 6:00pm at Town Office


Town Meeting is held on the first Tuesday in March at the Dummerston School. The polling place for all State and Federal elections the Town Hall. The Town Hall is located in the basement of the Center Congregation Church in Dummerston Center. Residents wishing to register to vote may fill out an application at the Town Office. The deadline for applications is 12:00 noon on the second Monday preceding Election Day.


Town property tax bills are mailed in the first part of July and are due in two equal installments, approximately August 20th and February 20th.


State law requires dogs/wolf-hybrids of 6 months and older to be licensed with the town on or before April 1st. Fee and licensing information may be obtained at the Town Office.


Vermont Hunting and Fishing Licenses are available at the Town Office.


Persons wishing to vend at the Covered Bridge or any other town property must apply for a Vendors permit. The Vendors permit application is available on line or from the Town Clerk.


No town permit is needed to hold a tag sale on personal property.

Windham Solid Waste Management District (Trash/Recycling) - 257-0272


Recycling bins are located at Windham Solid Waste Management facility on Ferry Road in Brattleboro, just south of the Dummerston town line. Recycling and composting is free, however an access sticker must be purchased to use the facility. The cost is $50 and stickers are available at the scale house during regular business hours. There is no town-wide garbage removal, but your access sticker will get you in for that, also. Residents can also hire garbage removal companies listed in the yellow pages or in online searches.


Zoning permits are required prior to any construction, reconstruction, conversion, structural alteration, relocation or enlargement of any building, or other structure, or of any mining, excavation of landfill, and any change in the use of any building or other structure, or land, or extension of use of land and division of land. New driveways require a curb cut permit. Applications and information are available at the Town Office. The Zoning Administrator can be reached at zoning@dummerston.org.


Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Mobile Unit is located on US Rte 5 at the State Highway Garage. Hours are weekly Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30am - 3:30pm. Go right here for more information.


Motor Vehicle registration renewals can be handled at the Town Office. The renewal can not be expired more than 2 months. Please bring a check or money order made out to DMV for the registration amount. The town charges an additional $3.00 for providing the service. That payment may be made in cash or check but not included in the DMV payment.
